Luz in Honduras
Our Sunday School Offering at Work

In the fall of 2000, Epiphany's Sunday School began collecting an offering to sponsor Luz through the Christian Children's Fund.
Luz lives with her family of nine in a poor rural community located in the southern part of Honduras. Her father, Jose, grows grain on his own land and her mother, Ceferina, takes care of the children and the home. Income from their crops is not enough to meet the family's basic needs. Their home is a small  house made out of wooden stick walls with a dirt floor and a tile roof.  It lacks the most basic public services.  Jose is the only family member who knows how to read and write, though Luz is learning these skills in school.
Luz was born on October 17, 1990. She is an active child who enjoys playing with dolls and  her classmates.  She also likes to sing.
With our help, Luz has been able to purchase shoes, clothing and school supplies, among other necessary items.
Thanks to each of you for sharing your blessings with Luz.
YOU CAN WRITE TO LUZ:
Would you like to send a card or letter to Luz?  Give your completed work to me and I will mail it to Luz for you. The Christian Children's Fund will translate your letter into Spanish so you don't have to worry about that.
